Re: MEMASSRQ - Mass deletion of PRs

Lets go through the details of what you posted.

  • First of all you reopened a question which is clearly marked as solved, the speech-bubble  icon left of the message is in green color with a checkmark. The detailed thread shows a green bar on the right side of the correct answer and as well the correct answer embedded to the question itself. This means the user was satisfied, his question was answered, he does not expect further replies
  • Further this question was posted in December 2009, which means it is almost 5 years old, 5 years in the IT business is a real big span where many things have changed. It is impossible to update all old questions with new solutions. And if more users would do it every day like you did with pulling 10 old discussions out of the grave, then nobody would find the new questions that got asked the same day, as they become invisible between all this old stuff that got pushed among the new discussions with this new reply. Not to forget that emails are send out to the OP of those questions  and the communication and activity stream of  several thousand MM followers are updated. Many of them even get a email notification.
  • Next point: You did not even try to understand the question of each discussion. Read the question of this discussion for example. It was not asked how to do a mass deletion of requisitions. It was clearly about a problem in transaction MEMASSRQ. Always try to understand the question before you add a reply.
  • Now to the content of your reply:

GO TO ME57

SELECT SCOPE OF LIST ALV. Select Doc type of PR, PUR Group,Plant

In dynamic selection select date range in which PR generated & execute.

Screen will open with List of PRS with line items.

Select one by one or all.

Until here you described what to do in ME57. Do you see anything in there where you explain how to delete the requisitions? I think the most important information: "and then click the trash can"  is missing

Instead you are jumping to:

You can go to SPRO do setting as shown below:

SPRO-----MAT MGMT------PURCHASING---ENVIRONMENT------ATTRIBUTES OF SYSTEM MESSAGES------------SELECT MESSAGE 06050.SET IT TO ERRO INSTEAD OF WARNING

You do not explain why one should go there. You did not explain what the 06050 message is  and why it should be set to error.

You go straight to the next statement:

GO TO SU01

SELECT USERS WHO CREATE PRS.GO TO PARAMETERS

ENTER PARAMETER MSV  ,MAINTAIN PARAMETER VALUE 06050 & SAVE

first of all, written in capital letters, which is not just bad for reading, it is even understood as shouting, which is not wanted here. Get familiar with some Netiquette.

You just say enter parameter value MSV with parameter value 06050, which is just nonsense.

You have to enter the variant of the message, not the message number.

But for most readers it is anyway unclear why they should do it, as you did not tell it.

All in all your post is just upside down and lacking of information on all ends.

It could have been a valuable reply

  • to a new question
  • if it was well explained instead of this incomplete garbage
