I tried with '2' Purchase requisitions in opening period but I observed that Planned order was not converted to PR after MRP run.
eg. Leadtime is 40 days
material is required on 31st sept. if I maintain Purchase requisitions in opening period =2 it wont convert into PR.
Instead keep as Planned order.
