Thanks for your reply. I tested and worked for me though.
Please check the indicator, 'long text exists' in the routing header. If unchecked, change the long text there (do some activity in the long text editor) and then save. Check again whether this indicator has been updated now.
1. If yes, create a fresh production order with the OPL8 setting maintained and observe whether long text is getting copied.
2. If no, it can be a problem of the editor (with SAPscripts, there is a note describing this problem, I cannot recollect the note number correctly).
If you had that indicator checked in routing and you are creating a production order, the long text should be copied during creation. There is chance of another error as discussed in OSS note 561529.
