You want to remove one or several company codes in the assignment of company
codes to a profit center. Its quite natural that it has to check if there is any dependency for the profit center that you want to deactivate and it should not allow unless you detach the link of this profit center from any other cost object.
Try to make the profit center inactive first and save and then try to remove the profit center from the cost center and then come back and remove the company code flag set from the profit center.
As if you activate the change directly (without saving as inactive before), the system issues message KM588 because dependent data (for example, material master or cost centers) exists.
However system should still activate your change regardless of this message.
Caution:
Before you delink the company code from the profit center ensure to check the implication of the use of this profit center in other cost objects like work orders, network, wbs element etc. as in all these cases your cost center might already be in use which is in turn link to the profit cetner that you are talking about.
