I have never heard about any standard functionality where triggering an event in one system will automatically trigger an identical event in another system. I believe that the BI event triggers "Some custom solution" in your BI system, which in turn reaches across to APO. You need to discover what that custom solution is.
Or, just change the solution to use remote process chains, which is the 'standard' way to meet such a business requirement.
